June Birding

Sheila’s birding Notes for June,

Common nighthawks and chuck-will’s-widows increase their courtship calls. Eastern kingbirds & red-headed woodpeckers aggressively defend their territories. Yellow-billed cuckoos are active at their nests. Young birds of green herons, Northern cardinals, pileated woodpeckers, white-eyed vireos & others may be seen begging for food. White ibis, great egrets, and little blue herons travel the skies in formations to & from their rookeries.
