The Who
We the owners are a couple, who both take tremendous pride and personal care in Okefenokee Pastimes and the comfort and pleasure of our guests.

The Internet and our web site location on the information super highway is the main vehicle we use to tell people about our business is all about. In addition we possess a very prominent physical location in relation to the Okefenokee Swamp and St. Mary’s River.

Okefenokee Pastimes simply put is two individuals providing something very special that is not cheaply or easily advertised. Our web site okefenokee.com is the best conveyance we know of, for informative communications. Individuals who use the internet to gather information about us, not relying solely on printed or guidebook information are almost always satisfied with their Okefenokee Pastimes experience. Information is very powerful and we try and help you empower yourself with our web site information.

The What
Almost 14 private, wooded acres offering the closest accommodations and in the opinion of many the best accommodations available around the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge (O.N.W.R.). Okefenokee Pastimes is the place to be if you appreciate a cozy, comfy, nice and very clean Cabins (your own personal independent charming little home in the woods), treed and shaded RV sites, and large treed, buffered tent sites, all of the above have built in fire pits and picnic tables and the nicest bath house in the area.  Great features, convenience, a natural rural setting, reasonable rates, peaceful surroundings, clean grounds, and a well run privately owned and operated business. We offer Cabin Accommodations, Outfitting, Camping, Campground Store, Meeting/Recreation room, Picnic area, Stargazing and just a nice quiet relaxing  time. We do quite a bit here and we do all of it well.

The Where
In Southeast Georgia USA, we are located directly in front of the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge’s East Entrance (The Headquarters and Main Entrance of this the almost 700 square mile Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge).

Okefenokee Pastimes, Our business, is sandwiched in between the Okefenokee Swamp’s eastern waterways and the born in the swamp, St. Mary’s River. Situated in a rural setting with a view facing the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge’s long leaf pine forest and a mix of long leaf pines, oaks, saw palmettos and many varieties of trees to make a nicely wooded/shaded campground. Our entrance driveway is directly across from the Okefenokee Refuge Entrance on Georgia highway 121/23, 7 miles south of Folkston, Georgia. It is an easy 45-55 minute drive north from Jacksonville, FL – JAX – International Airport. The Cumberland Island National Seashore ferry terminal dock in St. Mary’s is only a 45 minute drive east.

Okefenokee Swamp, together with very nearby Cumberland Island are the pristine Royal Jewels of this Southeastern U.S. Coastal Bio-Region. Wonderful Atlantic Coast Georgia, Jekyll Island and Florida Beaches are reached within an hour drive and some of Florida and Georgia’s most spectacular springs, rivers and natural habitats are a close and easy day trip. Winter Hours – Oct 1 to June 30  – Friday  10 am until 8 pm Saturday am until 7 pm,  Sundays 9 am until pm, Tuesdays – Thursdays 10am until 6pm , Mondays  10am – 4pm E.S.T

Summer Hours – July 1 to Sep 30  Friday – Saturday 10 am until 8 pm,  Sundays, Wednesday and Thursdays 10am until 6pm  E.S.T MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS CLOSED

Check Ins; Cabins 2pm to CloseRV & Tent Sites 1pm to Close (RV & Tents are encouraged to be here before dark as we are a dark park, therefore lighting is limited)

No check in’s will be permitted to enter the campground after OFFICE HOURS (there is no exception to this rule for any reason, for the safety and comfort of other guests, Park Staff and park property) when making your reservation please note your arrival time, if this time changes on the day of your arrival a courtesy call on your part would be a nice gesture and greatly appreciated by the Staff. Please plan your trip accordingly to arrive during office hours.

The Why
